Redecorating the Office Space! #1

The DIY has begun! So you may remember me mentioning in a past post that I wanted to re-design and redecorate the office space that I use for most of my work time. I wanted something airy and happy in mood so I thought that I should use pastel shades to keep the feeling light! I ended up deciding on mint colours with accents of pale pink on the accessories and furnishings.

So the first wall has been completed, after two mornings and afternoons I got to my striped dream pattern. I painted the base coat of the lightest shade of mint. There were some beautiful swatches in B&Q which led me to the Valspar collection (so many colours!). This was followed by measuring out 7" stripes and using masking tape to keep the lines clean before rolling on the next shade. The masking tape I used was extremely sticky! but thankfully it did not peel much of the base paint off. I painted my shelf the same shade of the lighter mint to make the room feel bigger and more cohesive. I'm super excited to do the other walls but also to decorate this part of the room with bunting and frames. Stay tuned for the next instalment of my interior journey!

 

 

Visiting Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium!

I was lucky enough to be treated to the Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium. You have no idea how long I have wanted to visit and the day finally arrived! I was so excited and wanted to share my experience with all of you. The staff were friendly and warm and being around all the cats made me feel like I was in a Ghibli movie. I'm a 90's kid!

Hey friends! So I set it upon myself to do an illustration test between my other art projects and I thought it would be nice to do a little homage to my childhood from around the 90's and 00's. It was a very special time for me and an amazing time to be a kid (Pokemon and Cardcaptors! Yes!) So here is my illustration :) can you guess all the things here?

How I Make Quick Illustration Patterns

Here are two illustrative patterns from my new video that you can check out below! In this video I thought it would be fun to show you guys how I create these quick watercolour patterns :) they by no means tile properly (that's a slightly different method) but it is a fun and easy way to make a decorative piece.

New Office Space!

Greetings all! So for a while now I have had a little room that I normally do my work in. It's a great little size however there's always been an issue with mold (the bane of my life!). Due to this, I feel it's time to not only repaint it with a paint that is made for more damp environments but to also redesign it with fresh new colours and newer storage areas. Redecoration time!!

I've been playing with the idea of pastel colours which includes some sort of graphics. My main thought is to use stripes to elongate the small room but also allow me to use the wall as a feature for my new YouTube channel! I can't wait to get started but first I need to look around at some furniture stores to see exactly what it is that I want to do. So the table above isn't actually my work station, that my friends is where I do my hair and makeup, but these are the designs that I'm considering and I kinda like the middle bottom, what do you think? My working area is actually on the opposite wall but I wanted to see how the room looked in my potential 'video wall' area. Mint green is so beautiful *o*

Emma Draws: Reinvent Yourself!

Good Morning! Another day and another 'Emma Draws' video is up! I find that reinventing yourself is a very common thing in today's society, changing hair colour, clothing style, eating habits, lifestyle choices (and I have a love for pastel colours!) so I felt I wanted to do an illustration based around that idea. I haven't painted or inked this much hair before and it took some time but i'm very happy with the outcome.
